Three new motorcycles from BMW Motorrad were introduced in India today – the BMW F 850 GS (Rs. 12.50 Lakh), the F 850 GS Adventure (Rs. 13.25 Lakh), and the F 900 XR (Rs. 12.30 Lakh) (ex-showroom prices, India). In India, both adventure motorcycles are available in ‘Pro’ form.
BMW F 850 GS, F 850 GS Adventure, and F 900 XR Launched
Gold rims and GS asymmetric headlights are standard on both models. There is only one Style Rallye color scheme available on the F 850 GS, while the Adventure can be ordered in either Style Rallye (Kalamata Metallic Matt) or Style Triple Black (Black Storm Metallic).

F 850 GS and Adventure both feature the BMW Motorrad Connected app, a 6.5-inch color TFT screen, dynamic ESA, BMW Motorrad ABS (cornering ABS), ASC (automatic stability control), keyless entry, LED lights, gear shift assist pro, dynamic traction control, comfort seat, heated grips, and cruise control. Aside from knuckle guards and widened enduro footrests, the Adventure comes with an adjustable gear lever.
The bikes are both equipped with an 853cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 95hp at 8,250rpm and 92Nm of torque at 6,250rpm, and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The rear tyres are 150/70 R17, while the front tyres are 90/90 R21. In contrast, the Adventure has a larger 23-liter fuel tank and a higher seat height than the F 850 GS, which has a 15-liter fuel tank and a seat height of 860mm.
The BMW 850 GS range will be available in Jun and will also come with a 3-year/unlimited kilometer warranty. The Triumph Tiger 900 range (Rs. 13.70 lakh – 14.35 lakh) and the Honda Africa Twin range (16.01 lakh – 17.55 lakh) will also be available in June.
BMW F 900 XR Pro 2022 Launched

BMW has launched the 2022 F 900 XR at a price of Rs 12.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India) in the ‘Pro’ trim. Adventure Sports Tourer deliveries are set to start in June as a complete unit.

The BMW F 900 XR comes with an 895cc, four-valve, two-cylinder engine that produces 105 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 92 Newton meter at 6,500 rpm. The bike has a 6-speed gearbox and can sprint from 0 to 100kph in 3.6 seconds. It is stated that the F 900 XR can reach a top speed of “over 200kph”.
The BMW Motorrad Connectivity app, 6.5-inch colour TFT display, LED lights all around, adjustable levers, adjustable rear suspension, slipper clutch, cast aluminium wheels, and an adjustable windscreen are standard on the F 900 XR.
There are also three distinct packages – Comfort, Dynamic and Active – available for the F 900 XR Pro. Dynamic ESA, keyless entry, and a center stand are included in the Comfort package, while the Dynamic package offers adaptive curve lighting, daytime running lights, and gear shift assist.
