Kia Sonet X-Line teased before launch

It will soon be possible to buy Kia Motors’ hot-selling sub-4 meter compact SUV with its sporty top-of-the-line trim, the Kia Sonet X-Line. In preparation for its launch, Kia has released a teaser for its Sonet X-Line. Here, Take a look.

We are just a few days away from Sonet X-Line’s launch, as indicated by the teaser. There are some speculations that the Sonet X-Line will be a little bit more powerful than its bigger sibling – the Seltos – and that the Sonet will get a black chrome exterior trim, black gloss black wing mirrors, and red accents on the bumpers, faux skid plates, and wheels, just like its more powerful big brother. There will be a dark theme throughout the interiors as well.

It is expected that the Kia Sonet X-Line will be offered with the 1liter turbo petrol and 1.5liter turbo diesel engines. There are three cylinders in the 1-liter turbo petrol engine, which is able to generate 118 bhp and 172 Nm torque. The Sonet X-Line will be equipped with a 7-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission. In terms of the diesel engine, it is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 115 Bhp-250 Nm torque. In the Sonet X-Line, the engine is paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Also notable is that these engine-gearbox combinations are available for the GT Line trim. Both engines offer punchy performance. Petrol engines are equipped with twin-clutch automatic gearboxes for quick gearshifts, whereas diesel engines use automatic torque converter gearboxes that are smooth and refined.

Equipment-wise, the Kia Sonet X-Line is expected to be similar to the GT Line. There are six airbags, ABS, traction control, hill hold, dual-zone automatic climate control, a touchscreen infotainment unit with Bose stereo, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support on the Sonet X-Line. Connected car features, multiple drive modes, steering mounted controls, cruise control, keyless entry, semi-digital instrument cluster, air purifier, ventilated front seats, automatic wing mirrors, rear AC vents, art leather seats, and an electric sunroof are some of the key features of the Sonet X-Line.

Kia Motors’ Sonet has been one of the best-selling cars in India for a long time, and the price of this car begins at Rs. 7.49 lakh ex-showroom in India. It is estimated that the Sonet X-Line, the top variant in the compact SUV’s lineup, will cost Rs. 14 lakh for the diesel variant and Rs. 13.5 lakh for the petrol version. With its X-Line model, the Sonet will compete with Hyundai’s upcoming Venue N-Line. There are a number of vehicles that compete with the Sonet including the Tata Nexon, the recently launched Maruti Brezza, the Mahindra XUV300, the Nissan Magnite, and the Renault Kiger.
