A new version of Yamaha’s popular naked, The Yamaha MT-15 V2.0, has been launched for 2022. These updates bring cosmetic and mechanical improvements to the street naked. According to Yamaha, its updated MT-15 Version 2.0 is priced at Rs 1,59,900, 13,000 more than its predecessor, which sells for Rs 1,46,900 (both ex-showroom Delhi).

It features the same 37mm inverted fork featured on the R15 V4 as well as the MT-15 V2.0. On the mechanical side, the MT-15 Version 2.0 will be powered by the same engine that powered the older model. There’s a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with 18.4 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and 14.1-newton meter of torque at 7,500 rpm, and it’s teamed with a 6-speed transmission.
Yamaha has replaced the outgoing MT-15’s box-section swingarm with an aluminum swingarm that takes inspiration from MotoGP. A new fully digital LCD display is included in the MT-15 Version 2.0, and the manufacturer has introduced two new color schemes – Cyan Storm and Racing Blue – in addition to the existing color schemes Ice Fluoro-Vermillion and Metallic Black.

There is, however, still only one ABS channel available for the MT-15. This would have been the perfect time for Yamaha to add dual-channel ABS to the MT-15, a feature that is already present on its faired sibling – the R 15. Version 2.0 of Yamaha’s MT-15 is more expensive by Rs 13,000 than the previous model.

A Bluetooth-compatible instrument cluster is also included with the updated MT-15, displaying alerts such as calls, e-mails, or SMS, maintenance reminders, the location of the last parked vehicle, fuel consumption information, and malfunction alerts via Yamaha’s Y-Connect app.
Yamaha will sell the bike at all authorized dealers, and the closest competitors (around the same price point) are the KTM 125 Duke and the Bajaj Pulsar NS200.
